Information on our local parks and places of interest
Baldwin Park
Built and named after the founder of Montpelier, Baldwin Park is a nice little place to have a picnic with your family and relax. There is a pavilion at the park for families to eat on and enjoy. Baldwin Park is the place to hang out!
Sometimes called the “Airplane Park” because of the decommissioned military aircraft, there is also fun little playground and a small-sized basketball court. Overall, the park is very kid friendly! The park has a wonderful atmosphere and is safe for children.
Fireman’s Park
Fireman’s Park is a very scenic place in Montpelier. It has a walking path as well as a nice deck to look over the river. The park also contains some playground equipment for children to use and is very pet friendly.
This park also has a rich history behind it. The park is the product of the people of Montpelier coming together to raise funds for this beautiful common area. The Park got its name because of the donation of the Montpelier Fire Department and also to honor the heroes who battled the Southern Wells Elementary School fire in 1992.
